Madesimo
|
Madesimo is a famous touristic locality, approximately 20 km far from Chiavenna. It is located at 1550 meters above sea level, and is the Italian town that is furthest from the sea.
Perfect for the summer holiday, thanks to the fresh climate of the Alps, but also for the winter, with its 60 km of ski tracks.
The town is formed by diffrent hamlets; we remember Montespluga, ancient alpine village that has conserved its original shapes: it is the ideal point of departure for walks dipped in the nature, with the sight on the artificial lake risen in 1930.
In Madesimo there is also a golf course, besides the numerous paths for trekking and mountain bike, from the lake to the high peaks, always different, but always wonderful landscapes and colors.
But Madesimo is above all famous for the winter sports: tracks for alpine ski and cross-country, excursions with snowmobile… this and much more waits for the tourists who spend their holidays in Valchiavenna. For the expert skiers, we remember the Canalone, a off-piste, considered one of the most beautiful and difficult run of the Alps, and the zone of the Val di Lei, characterized by fabulous panoramas, whitened by the snow.
