One of the most important characteristics of Bormio is its water: the thermal sources are exploited since roman age and today they feeds three plants: the complex of Bormio Terme, the complex of Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi.
Bormio Terme is located in the center of the town, and offers a indoor swimming pool, new bathtubs outdoor, for adults and children; aquatic park with a slide, bathtubs with hydromassage, with a magnificent view on the splendid mountain panorama that surrounds the town.
On the road that leads to Stelvio there is Bagni Vecchi, an historical complex with natural caves and bathtubs, inserted in a wonderful landscape.
Not far there is Bagni Nuovi, an elegant structure inaugurated in 1836, surrounded by a wide park in which there are thermal sources.
The waters gush out at a temperature comprised between 36° and 42° C; their therapeutic properties have been recognized since centuries ago: these waters cure diseases of skin and respiratory system, and help the processes of cicatrization of the wounds.
