Naval Museum - Genoa

The Naval Museum is situated in Genoa-Pegli, in the Villa Centurione - Doria, an extraordinary architectonic complex risen in the 16th century.
The villa indeed is constituted by a central body and two wide and luminous porches from where you can enjoy the view on the splendid garden.
The palace was constructed for the wealthy banker Adamo Centurione in 1535.
The topic of the collection is the relationship between Liguria and the sea: starting from the Middle Ages, here are explained the modalities in which we practised and practise today all the activities connected to the sea: trades, navigation, fishing, shipbuilding.
Amid the trees of the Park of Villa Doria, there is a antiaircraft Shelter, dug in the flank of the hill. Its aspect recalls a cave, and it is today seat of the Cave of Archaeology, an area of archaeological experimentation.
